Benefits of Indoor Cycling
In 1995, Johnny Goldberg (Johnny G) an endurance cyclist from South Africa introduced Spinning to the world at IHRSA in San Francisco, CA. The program spread and since then has evolved in various forms. At True Cycling Studio we provide similar indoor cycling classes that are based on scientific and outdoor riding principles: USA Cycling and Stages. When properly fitted (see our Intro Ride class description), our Stages bikes possess the bio-mechanical infrastructure and geometry that allows for optimal cardiovascular endurance essential for any individual, from a beginner, senior athlete, weekend warrior, to an ultra distance cyclist. Although most of our classes are between 30 to 45 minutes in duration, our Stages bikes allows riders to sit and stand for long periods of time.
The list below are the 4 most common benefits of this great program. For more detailed information about the other benefits of indoor cycling, as well as to learn about types of rides available, plans and services we provide please sign up for our free Intro Class or schedule to stop by for a studio tour and visit.
4 Benefits:
Low Impact
Indoor cycling causes minimal impact to hip, knee, and ankle joints.
Muscular Endurance
Pedaling against resistance increases muscular endurance of the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and calf muscles.
Stress Level
An indoor cycling class provides that same rush of adrenaline and release of happy-mood neurotransmitters known as endorphins.
Cardiovascular
A cycling class can keep your heart rate well within a vigorous range for up to 1 hour, helping you lower the risk of coronary artery disease.
